    OUT OF A CULTURAL BOX

    December 2016 | Vrnjacka Banja | Serbia
Europe is a pluralistic place in terms of identities, cultural background, religion, ethnicity. In more and more aspects of life we need to look outwards: get out of our own cultural boxes and start to understand diversity, adapt to it and operate in this environment. Intercultural competences are nowadays crucial for youth leaders, facilitators of international youth meetings, and all young people who want to work in an international environment in the future. Such skills are appreciated by employers, valuable as a competences and are enriching peoples personalities. What we will develop during this training course is the ability to use those intercultural skills in youth work on international level in order to improve soft aspects of international youth work - communication, effective cooperation, understanding different norms and behaviors. The needs that are addresses are based on current trends and expectations towards young people in labor market, as well as needs acquired in international youth sector. Youth NGOs, in order to be really effective, need to operate internationally. They need to cooperate with other sectors, on an international level, in partnerships with NGOs from other countries.

Many youth workers who are effective and reliable in their local societies, have problems operating in higher levels. This barrier prohibits them from (for example) getting funds for activities, and seriously harms their operational capacities. "Going international" is a perspective opportunity, but also a great obligation for youth organizations. Therefore the aim of this training course is to prepare youth leaders and youth workers from all over Europe ( EU + Easter Partnership countries) to successfully cooperate and share an intercultural working environment. In order to do that, we plan to achieve the following aims: • Make young people aware of the cultural diversity they live in, as European citizens, including diversity of social norms, cultural codes, culturally-specific behaviors,...
    • Develop cultural sensibility that helps to establish successful interpersonal relations with representatives of different cultures and to achieves goals in intercultural environment, • Develop positive attitudes of acceptance and openness towards diversity, • Develop concrete soft skills, that will help operating in intercultural environment, such as: - Effective communication in intercultural environments, - Creative conflict resolving, as the ability to recognize and respond to acts of discrimination, - Ability to build a trust in intercultural teams, - Knowledge of different time management and organizational cultures in different countries. We will, thereby, gather together representatives of different NGOs working in the field of youth and train them in theory and practice what does it mean to be effective in an intercultural environment.

    WHY OUR MINDS MATTER?
    2017 | Mladinski Center Idrija

Today we got the news from our national agency that the 'Why our minds matter?' project got approved!

Introducing to “Why our mind matter?” youth exchange The young are facing an increasingly fast way of life, dealing with stress, anxiety, great expectations coming from their environment etc. This is usually more embarrassing than when our arm gets broken or when we have flu. When it comes to mental health, one usually thinks about the negative aspects of it, whereas the positive aspect of it and the importance of psychology in everyday life are rarely focused on as are ways of helping ourselves in such cases in a simple manner. Caring for our mental health is connected with promoting our well-being, preventing mental disorders and treating and rehabilitating people with them. This is going to be the main focus point of the youth exchange.

The young will face different challenges and look for answers to questions such as: can we take better care of our mental health and those of others, what is mental health and why is it still considered a taboo, what is the role of psychology in it and how can we transfer all the theoretical knowledge and test it in practice. The young will take part in collecting the ideas on how to transfer the knowledge into real-life situations. They will attend different workshops on the topic of mental health care (relaxation techniques, stress, recognising one's own feelings and unwanted thoughts), prepare and execute psychological experiments (similar to the well-known National Geographic show Brain Games), meet individuals with mental disorders and try to beat prejudice about them by creating a more excepting world around us. The fact is, namely, that stigmatisation and discrimination present two of the most important factors threatening and slowing down mental health, which is why taking appropriate measures against their origins and social exclusion connected to them is extremely important in promoting social equality and improving the mental health of general population. If you have any questions - please do not hesitate to ask!

    CAMERA ACTION PROMOTION IMPACT
    10 - 18 November 2016 | Nafplion, Greece

The project 'Camera. Action. Promotion. Impact' is a training course financed by the European Commission through Erasmus+.
The six countries participating in the project are represented by NGOs and informal groups from Greece, Italy, Denmark, Poland, Romania, and the UK. Many organisations (NGOs, charities, businesses, etc) use self-produced videos to promote themselves and their projects. Unfortunately, these videos often fail to make the impact that was hoped for them because they lack the polish and professional quality needed to grab the attention of their audience. Making a video is easy, but making a good video takes knowledge, skills and hard work.

TC 'Camera. Action. Promotion. Impact' has following objectives:
    • Increase competencies on efficient techniques, means and possibilities of video-production among participants of this training course.
    • To learn modern programmes and platforms supporting video creation, promotion and dissemination as well as the basic rules of it such as respect to Copyright, Creative Commons etc, among participants of this training course.
    • To raise willingness to make a positive change in their communities and develop empathy towards people with fewer opportunities, among participants of this training course.
    • After the period of this training course, participants will gain more confidence in digital skills, whilst learning new ones that will stay with them long after the project has finished.
This training course is primarily aimed at youth workers and anyone who works with young people (young people are aged under 30 years) and who wish to improve their video-making skills for the benefit of young people. It is also open to people who work or volunteer for charities, NGOs and social groups and who wish to improve their video-making skills for the benefit of these organisations. The participants will attend training sessions built around non-formal education methods. These will begin at the preparation stage of the project and continue through the implementation phase to the evaluation and follow-up. This means participants must be ready to engage with others, or at least willing to push their comfort zones a little. During the project's major activity we will be working with 6 charities and NGOs local to Athens/ Nafplion. Our participants will use the knowledge and skills they have learnt in earlier sessions to produce promotional videos for these organisations.

  • KONGRESU KULTURY 2016

Chcemy dyskutować o wartościach, pytać o autonomię kultury, polityki kulturalne i ekonomię kultury, o media publiczne, biblioteki i domy kultury, o sztukę i jej odbiorców, o rolę twórców i animatorów kultury, o to, czym powinna być edukacja kulturalna.

Kultura i sztuka zawsze były podstawową przestrzenią diagnozowania problemów społecznych. Tylko w wolnej, twórczej kulturze pojawiają się pierwsze intuicje innego świata i wizje naprawy świata zastanego. Tylko w otwartym i aktywnym społeczeństwie obywatelskim może dokonać się zmiana.
Wszystkich Państwa zachęcamy do dalszego zaangażowania w proces tworzenia Kongresu.
